Govt decides to terminate independent status of CBFC

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The government on Monday decided to terminate the independent status of the Central Board of Film Censors (CBFC).

Sources privy to the matter said the federal cabinet gave the approval of reversing the PTI-led government’s decision, adding that the CBFC will now function under the information ministry.

It merits mention here that the CBFC was given an independent status in 2020 by the PTI-led government.
