Summary Aamir Khan raised his voice against corruption at Ramlila Ground on Saturday.

Actor Aamir Khan was accompanied by filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, who is known for his films on national integrity like Lage Raho Munna Bhai. Addressing the crowd at Ramlila Maidan, Aamir said he supports social activist Anna Hazare and his movement for a noble cause.“Every Indian citizen wants to get rid of corruption. The bill proposed by Team Anna is a powerful instrument to check corruption. All eyes are on the Parliament. The country needs a strong Lokpal bill,” said Aamir.Expressing concern over Hazare’s health, Aamir said, “I request Anna Hazare to end his fast as the process of getting a bill passed in Parliament is long.”He also asked the people to come forward and participate in the electoral process of the country. “I urge people to vote during elections as electing an honest MP is duty of every individual.”The actor asserted that just strong bill will not end corruption as it is a dual process and people’s participation is must. “I hope a strong bill will get passed. However, it’s the responsibility of every citizen to not to indulge in bribing.”Echoing similar views, Rajkumar Hirani said he is glad that such a large movement remained non-violent. “After the success of Lage Raho Munna Bhai people told me that Gandhigiri can happen only in movie but people who have participated in the movement have proved that a goal can be achieved by adopting non-violent methods.”
