LAHORE (Web Desk) - Pakistani singer Shaukat Ali, who has been suffering from a liver disease for a long time, on Thursday saw his condition worsen.

The folk singer’s son announced that his health has deteriorated further. Son Amir Shaukat Ali said that his father’s condition is critical and his liver is near failure, he requested the public to pray for his father’s recovery.

Shaukat Ali has been suffering from liver disease for a long time. Last year, on the instructions of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, he was admitted to Gambat Institute where he remained under treatment for several days. Later, in October 2020, he was admitted to CMH Lahore on the special instructions of Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

Shaukat Ali, who belongs to a family of artists from Gujarat, earned fame all over the world through his mystical Punjabi songs. To this day, his 1965 song “Jaag utha hai sara watan" raises the morale of our soldiers. He was awarded the Pride of Performance Award by the government of Pakistan in 1990.
