Celebrities gathered in the heart of Hollywood in support of David Schwimmers new film Trust which addresses sexual assault and the substitution of online chat for face to face contact.Trust chronicles the story of a 14-year old Annie, a high school freshman trying to come of age in the midst of high school judgment, sex and drugs. As she begins her first year of high school she also meets who she thinks is a charming 16-year old boy in a teenage chatroom.Their online friendship escalates into lustful chatroom love but, when Annie and the person she believes to be Charlie finally meet up in person, Annie discovers that her young love is actually a much older man. Her relationship with a rapist takes her and her entire family on an unexpected emotional ride.Clive Owen, who plays Annies father, Will, thinks this film is all about the dangers too much internet use can cause on teenagers. Although this is David Schwimmers second film behind the camera, it is a project that the former Friends star has been working on for about seven years.According to the actor and director, this film will encourage young people and their parents to start talking about the dangers that come with the use of the Internet and online predators.Co-starring with Owen in the film are newcomer Liana Liberato and and actresses Catherine Keener and Viola Davis, who also graced the red carpet. Trust hits US theaters on April 1.
