Uniao da Ilha troupe kicked off the party and paid tribute to the evolutionary theory of Charles Darwin.Roughly 4,000 revelers displayed costumes of flowers, fishes, bees, bugs, peacocks, snakes, giraffes, zebras and many other animals. The show went on with Salgueiro group, which brought the magic of cinema to Rios parade strip.The school paid tribute to the Brazilian film industry and revelers donned costumes inspired by famous movies that took place in Rio, like City of God and Elite Squad.
