Summary One of the most beloved Victorian romance novels of all time, Jane Eyre, is set to hit movie theaters later this year. The cast and crew of the latest film adaptation of Charlotte Bronte's classic tale discussed its making on Friday.
Director Cary Fukunaga, who previously made the critically acclaimed, Sin Nombre, in 2009, said that his version of Jane Eyre is a far cry from a modern day interpretation. Jane Eyre is Fukunagas first film after his debut movie, Sin Nombre, which has won multiple awards including the Best Directing Award at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival. The romantic drama stars 21-year-old Mia Wasikowska as Jane Eyre, and German-born Irish actor Michael Fassbender as Edward Rochester, Janes love interest. Wasikowska said that even when reading the novel for the first time she was determined to portray the title character.The new Jane Eyre movie will open in theaters in the United States on 11th March 2011.
