Summary Leighton Meester's new film The Roommate has moved into the top spot at the US box office with a 15.6 million dollar debut weekend.
The college thriller stars the “Gossip Girl actress as a student who becomes obsessed with her new roommate, played by Minka Kelly. Though trashed by critics, the movie gave room for a showy performance from Gossip Girl co-star Meester.
