Today no film releases without any stress. Actor Aamir Khan too faced a similar problem three days before the release of his wife Kiran Rao's directorial debut Dhobi Ghat. The Akhil Bharatiya Dhobi Samaj objected to the title of the film and wanted Aamir to change it. Speaking at a press conference, Aamir explained to them that the movie is about a beautiful and heritage place, which is Dhobi Ghat, an important part in Mumbai and not about any particular community. He showed the movie to the members of the association and asked them to be the judge themselves and decide if the movie hurts their sentiments in anyway. The members after watching the film were content and satisfied about their concerns that they had, and were of the notion that nothing in the film was disrespectful towards the community. In fact they felt that Prateik had performed the role of a Dhobi extremely well without stereotyping it in anyway.
