ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Senate on Wednesday unanimously approved the resolution to pay tribute to the legendary singer Malika-e-Tarannum Noor Jehan.
The singer was paid homage on her death anniversary during the Senate meeting headed by Chairman Raza Rabbani.
The resolution, presented by Senator Mushahid Hussain, stated that Noor Jehan’s national patriotic songs during 1965 Pak- India War gave courage to the nation.
The resolution further stated that the singer’s songs are still popular among the public.
While talking about Quaid day, Chairman Raza Rabbani said that the best way to pay tribute to Quaid-e-Azam is to act upon his sayings.
He urged not to distort Quaid’s August 11, 1947 speech and rather implement it as it poses no aspects of terrorism and sectarianism.
