The federal government has announced to give industry status to film sector. Industrial tariff instead of commercial tariff would be applied on electricity being used in cinema and production houses. Federal Minister for Culture Pir Aftab Shah, in a meeting with a delegation of film industry in Lahore, said that directive has been issued to Federal Board of Revenue in this regard. He said that the Punjab government has waived 65 percent entertainment tax on films. He said that films produced in Lahore would be censored in the city while Indian movies would not be screened in cinemas on Eid.
