ISLAMABAD: Students of country’s remote region like Umerkot and DG Khan will be able to receive professional degree in BS (Computer Science) in first time in the history.
The students will get teaching facility through video-conferencing, being arranged by the Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU).
The inaugural ceremony for introducing the BS (Computer Science) classes in the two regions will be held on Wednesday 9th January at 9:30 a.m. The AIOU already registered twenty nine students for Umerkot and twenty students from DG Khan who will be imparted teaching facility in a high profile professional programme.
This is a part of AIOU’s ongoing efforts to provide IT based education to the students of far-flung and neglected areas, enabling them to get equal opportunities in the country’s social-economic developments. The AIOU is negotiating with some prominent soft-ware houses in the country who could provide internship facility as well as scholarships to the students as a special case.
