Summary AIOU will start admissions of M.Sc (Hons), MS/M.Phill and PhD programmes from December 10.
ISLAMABAD: Dr Hamid Khan Niazi, Director, Board of Advance Studies and Research (BASR) announced that Allama Iqbal Open University will start its admissions of M.Sc (Hons), MS/M.Phill and PhD programmes for the Spring Semester 2013 across the country simultaneously.
He said that admissions of Ph.D Programmes (On MS/M.Phil Basis would be offered in Distance, Non-Formal & Continuing Education, Secondary Teacher Education, Education Planning and Management(EPM), Special Education, Science Education and Agricultural Extension.
Dr Hamid Khan said that the admissions of MS/M.Phil Programmes would be offered in Distance, Non-Fiormal & Continuing Education, Secondary Teacher Education, Educational Planning & Management(EPM), Special Education, Science Education, Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, Environmental Design, Urdu, Economics, Management Sciences and Pakistani Languages and Literature. He said that MSc (Hons) would be offered in rural Development, Live Stock Management and Agricultural Extension.
M.Phil 1st Division /3 GPA in the relevant subject and must have passed NTS GAT (Subject) test with 60% marks is eligibility for Ph.D admissions while M.Sc 2nd Division and must have passed NTS GAT (General) test with 50% marks is eligibility for admissions of M.Sc (Hons), MS and M.Phil programmes, he added.
Dr. Hamid Khan Niazi said that NTS GAT (General / Subject) results are valid for 2 years. Students who have passed the said test within this period and did not get admission can also apply, he asserted.
He further said that NTS will conduct special test on 30th December, 2012 for those who have not yet passed the test. 21st December is last date for registration. For more detail the candidates may visit the NTS website www.nts.org.pk.
