Summary The Prime Minister has assured to increase the budget of education to increase the literacy rate.
Inaugurating center of Rehabilitation for shelter-less children at Sultana Foundation in Islamabad today‚ Raja Pervez Ashraf said youth are asset of the nation and collective efforts will be made for their welfare.
Furthering his statement, he said that under the 18th Amendment‚ education has been referred to the provinces but the federal government will continue to play its role for promotion of education.
Efforts are being made to improve the standard of education at the federal schools.
The Prime Minister said the country is faced with different challenges but all these can be sorted out by developing national consensus.
He said dividends of national consensus introduced by the present government have started paying.
He said we should rise above cast‚ creed and sectarian differences and stand united to confront the challenges of extremism and terrorism. He said a handful of misguided elements can t dictate their terms to the majority of Pakistan who are peaceful.
He said Pakistan is blessed with natural resources and by exploiting them we can transform the country into a prosperous one.
Paying tributes to the welfare services of Sultana Foundation‚ he said those working for the welfare of humanity are the asset of the nation. He asked Sultana Foundation to enter into a public private partnership for the opening of schools in Islamabad and the far flung areas of the country.
He announced Rs 50 million for the foundation.
