Summary Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology has been furnished with a 'seminar library'.
It will be useful for both the faculty of basic and applied sciences.The library, equipped with the latest computer system, was initiated by university’s Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Syed Jawaid Hassan Rizvi, in the presence of faculty members, on Sunday.The library has a number of high quality reference books, other publications and informative material in all areas of basic and applied sciences for use in research. Books for the library were donated by the faculty members of SSUET and the central library.The department of basic and applied sciences provides published material, freely available to all interested students who, by spending some time, can increase their knowledge about the relevant subjects, concepts and ideas, Rizvi said.Stressing over the need for generating an academic and research culture in the faculty, the vice chancellor said the library would serve as a top-most knowledge resource for students and motivate them to involve themselves into basic and applied science research that was important to the advancement of human knowledge with different end goals in sight.Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology is being represented on the Governing Board of International Association of Universitites through its Vice Chancellor. The prospects for employment of graduates from this University are bright in view of their expected quality education and training.The demand for highly qualified Engineers and Scientists specializing in new disciplines of engineering and technology is increasing because of the need to modernize and systematize the industry so as to be competitive in the International Export Market for manufactured goods. Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology can, it is hoped meet the challenges of independence in scientific research and development.This in not ordinary expectation, but the facts and figures show that government, semi-government and private organisations prefer to engage the graduates of this University because of their skill and quality of Education.The strength of Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology has gradually increased to the present about more than 4500 students of BS Program, 124 students of MS Program, and some 210 faculty members.
