Summary The LHC adjourned the hearing of Punjab University VCs reappointment case till July 12.
The Lahore High Court heard a case regarding reappointment of PU VC Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran.The petitioner’s counsel informed the court that reappointment of Kamran was not only violation of the Punjab University Act but also of the Supreme Court judgments against re-employment of retired officers. Petitioner said the respondent had already completed his term as vice chancellor but the government by reappointing him also deprived eligible candidates of their lawful right. He prayed to the court to take notice of the ‘illegality’ and set aside the re-appointment.Counsel for VC did not appear of the court. The court adjourned the hearing till July 12.
