Summary Further investigation under way
KASUR (Dunya News) – Police claimed to have busted a gang of dacoits by arresting it seven members and seized valuables worth one million rupees, Dunya News reported here on Friday.
On the directives of Kasur DPO Aftab Ahmed, Sheikham Police carried out an operation and arrested seven members of Akbar alias Toota gang involved in dozens of cases of robbery and dacoity. Stolen property worth one million rupees and weapons were recovered from the possession of the accused.
The stolen goods include Rs400,000 in cash, thee motorcycles and 10 mobile phones and other valuables. The accused used to ride motorcycles in groups of 2/3 and rob passersby at gunpoint.
During the investigation, the accused revealed more than a dozen serious incidents of robbery and theft in the areas of Sheikhum, Sadar Kasur, B Division and Ganda Singh. Further investigation was under way.
