GUJRAT (Dunya News) - A constable of the Crime Control Department was martyred after armed suspects opened fire in Gujrat.
According to a CCD spokesperson, the incident occurred during a reconnaissance operation when dangerous suspects opened fire on Constable Fayyaz Hussain.
The spokesperson said the suspects started firing as soon as they spotted the CCD official, leaving Fayyaz Hussain critically injured.
He was immediately shifted to hospital but succumbed to his injuries despite medical treatment.
A heavy police contingent reached both the hospital and the crime scene following the incident.
The spokesperson added that the body of the martyred constable was sent for post-mortem examination, while authorities are pursuing the suspects involved in the attack.
