Summary Anti-corruption officials arrest a patwari and clerk in Vehari for taking a bribe during a land transfer, recovering cash and launching further investigation.

VEHARI (Dunya News) – The Anti-Corruption Department has arrested a patwari and his clerk for allegedly taking a bribe during an operation in Vehari.

According to officials, patwari Arsalan and clerk Shakeel were caught red-handed while accepting illegal gratification. The raid was conducted by a circle inspector following a complaint filed by a citizen, identified as Jahangir.

The anti-corruption team also recovered the bribe money from the suspects at the scene.

Authorities said the accused had demanded and received the bribe in exchange for processing the transfer of a five-marla plot in area 12/WB.

A case has been registered against both suspects, and further investigation is under way.
