LAHORE (Dunya News) – Police claimed that an under custody outlaw was killed from the firing of his own accomplices when he was being escorted to a Ghaziabad area for purpose of recovery, Dunya News reported here on Thursday.

According to Gujjarpura police, the suspect identified as Ansar Lodhi was in police custody for heinous crimes such as terrorism, attack on police, robbery and abduction. Recently, he was arrested for shooting at and injuring two policemen in Ghaziabad.

A suicide jacket was also recovered from his house during a police raid. On Thursday night, he was injured in the firing of his own accomplices during a shootout with police. He was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his wounds. His accomplices escaped after the firing, setting the police in their pursuit.
