KARACHI (Dunya News) – A rickshaw driver killed on Thursday in an exchange of gunfire between police and street criminals in New Karachi.
The incident occurred when street criminals were escaping after snatching a motorcycle of a citizen. The police officers reached the spot but suspects opened fire.
A rickshaw driver, identified as Nafees Khan, accidently hit by the bullet and was shifted to the hospital immediately where he succumbed to injuries.
Both police and street criminals blamed each other for the unfortunate accident however, the postmortem report will reveal the truth.
The son of the victim told that his father Nafees Khan was a retired army man.
According to police, one criminal out of four, has been detained while search for others is underway. The arrested criminal was released from jail just a month ago, police told.
IG Sindh, taking notice of the mishap, has directed DIG West to initiate investigation.
