One killed as unidentified armed men open fire at car in Karachi

KARACHI (Dunya News) – At least one person was killed as unknown suspects opened fire at a car in Karachi’s phase 8 on late Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Imran Baksh, who was a resident of Balochistan’s Chagai area.

On the other hand, police personnel arrested as many as 41 suspects during search operation in different parts of Karachi. The officers conducted a raid in Spack Colony of Purana Golimar area on a tip-off. According to SP SITE, house-to-house search was carried out during which eight suspects were taken into custody.

Police also carried out a search operation in Katti Pahari area of Orangi Town and arrested 33 suspects. According to SP Orangi, arms were also recovered from the arrested suspects.

Meanwhile, residents caught two dacoits in Azizabad area and handed them over to police after giving them severe beating. The dacoits were identified as Lal and Saleem.

Separately, security officers foiled an attempt to abduct new born from Jinnah Hospital and arrested two women. The infant was handed over to parents while investigation into the matter was also launched. 

Earlier, Sindh Chief Minsiter Murad Ali Shah also approved notification to extend Pakistan Rangers’ special powers in Karachi for 90 days.

Rangers’ special powers were going to expire on Jan-10.
