SADIQABAD (Dunya News) – A pitiless man on Tuesday doused her wife in acid and attempted to burn her alive over minor domestic dispute in Sadiqabad.
The suspect identified as Mohammad Shakeel threw acid on her 35-year-old wife Saira and set her ablaze to show it as a suicide. However, the woman was shifted to Sheikh Zayed Hospital in a critical condition.
Recording the statement, the victim alleged her husband, brother-in-law, mother-in-law and father-in-law of trying to murder her. She said that the suspects fled the scene, leaving her suffering after which neighbors took her to the hospital.

More than 100 people, mainly women and girls, are disfigured in acid attacks every year in Pakistan, although groups helping survivors say many more cases go unreported.
Victims are often permanently blinded, and their scar tissue can become infected with septicemia or gangrene.
