Summary Citizens are not taking traffic rules seriously, said traffic wardens.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Traffic wardens in Lahore have carried out more than 70,000 challans in one month over violation of traffic rules.
According to the statistics obtained by Dunya News, 5940 underage drivers were fined whereas challan slips were handed over to 38361 motorcyclists for not wearing helmets.
Similarly, 18967 challans were held over seat belt violation, 7829 challans were carried out for violating traffic signals whereas 57 cases were lodged over one wheeling.
The officers said that several traffic awareness campaigns have been launched in the past but the citizens are not taking them seriously.
