LAHORE (Dunya News) – Special Anti-Terrorism Court gave death sentenced to a mother on Monday for burning her daughter Zeenat Bibi alive after she had love marriage. The girl s brother has been given life imprisonment as he was also involved in the murder.
The case of honour killing was heard by Justice Chaudhry Mohammad Illyas in the Anti-Terrorism Court. The factory area police had submitted challan in the court according to which the culprit Nasreen Bibi and her son Anees burnt the girl alive out of honour on June 8 last year for carrying out love marriage.
Mother of the girl Nasreen Bibi who murdered her daughter confessed to her crime. During the case hearing, the culprit Anees told that Zeenat had herself splashed petrol to get burnt.
The court considered all evidence and statements before giving its verdict of life imprisonment for Anees and death sentence for Nasreen.
