Summary Streets crimes increased a great deal in the capital during the ongoing year
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Islamabad police’s performance is under question yet again as 42 murders were reported in the capital within 6 months. An increase in the cases related to extortion, rape and street crimes was also observed, reported Dunya News.
42 murders were reported in 22 police stations of Islamabad during the first six months of 2016 whereas 62 cases related to attempt to murder were filed. Two cases related to extortion whereas 124 cases regarding rape were reported.
132 cases related to car, motorcycle theft were reported and 400 First Information Reports (FIRs) were registered in regards to various street crimes. 518 cases regarding the dishonouring of cheques were reported.
There has been an increase in the crime rate of the capital during the first six months of 2016 as compared to that recorded during the first half of the previous year, according to the police record.
