Summary Incident left 5 injured who are being treated in Mayo Hospital
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Two people died whereas five were injured as a result of firing that took place during the proceedings of a panchayat that was being carried out in the Sabzi Mandi area located at Ravi Road in Lahore, reported Dunya News.
The panchayat, an assembly organised in rural areas, was held to make peace between two conflicting groups. During the proceedings, members belonging to one of the groups opened fire that initially left 7 injured. The injured ones were transferred to the Mayo Hospital where two of them succumbed to their wounds.
Police contingent arrived at the crime scene and detained seven individuals. Eye witnesses state that a police contingent was present at the location where the pachayat was being held however no action was taken when one of the groups opened fire.
