Spanish police arrest Pakistani man accused of promoting militancy

Summary Spain has detained 24 people so far this year with suspected links to militancy.

MADRID (Reuters) - Spanish police arrested a man from Pakistan in Barcelona on Tuesday accused of promoting militancy via social media, the Interior Ministry said in a statement.

The man had been promoting the actions of various groups operating in the conflict zones of Syria and Iraq, especially Islamic State, the ministry said.

Including Tuesday s arrests, Spain has detained 24 people so far this year with suspected links to militancy.
