BAHAWALPUR (Dunya News) – Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) on Monday foiled a major terrorist plot of blowing up a railway track at the Sutlej river, reported Dunya News.

According to CTD sources, five terrorists were apprehended who were planning to blow up the northern bridge located at the Sutlej river. Five bombs were recovered from the bridge along with other ammunition and explosives. The arrested terrorists belong to Tehreek-e-Taliban and have been identified by the names of Nauman, Usman, Sikander, Mehboob and Hameed.

The terrorists were planning to target the passenger train that travels above the bridge. The detained terrorists have been shifted to an undisclosed location for further interrogation.
