ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Local court on Saturday has sent third accused in fake travel agents’ group on two-day physical remand in Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) custody.
The group was arrested earlier which used to send people abroad by acquiring visas for them on forged documents.
Third accused named Waseem was presented before senior Civil Judge West, Abdul Ghafoor Kakar. Accused’s counsel told the court that his client used to fill information required of the applicants on visa forms.

The FIA authorities requested the court to grant seven-day remand as it would serve as key to make other arrests in the case. However, the court granted FIA custody of the accused for two days.
On December 31 in Islamabad, the agency had nabbed a travel agent Raja Shafiq for illegally deporting people to United States on forged documents.
The operation was conducted on the complaints received from US embassy during which it was learnt that the suspect had prepared files of as many as 250 people to be deported to US.
The officers nabbed the suspect and launched an investigation into the matter.
Earlier, FIA had conducted raids in Gujrat, Faisalabad and Gujranwala, and arrested six human smugglers. These human smugglers were involved in preparation of illegal travelling documents for Europe and other countries.
Fake passports were also recovered from their possession.
