ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Police constable was beaten up and deprived of Rs 5000 and a mobile cell by the two armed persons at Taramri chowk.
Koral Police constable said as soon as he left for his home after discharging his duty he was intercepted by two armed persons at Taramri chowk, was subjected to violence by them and his uniform was also torn out by them.
These two persons snatched his mobile cell and Rs 5000 and fled from the scene. It was learnt later that the two accused included Imran alias Gattoo and Seraj Khaliq.
The police have registered the case and started investigation.
Meanwhile, Cantt Board Rawalpindi has got vacated Dhok Syedan ground from the traders of sacrificial animals.
The intense inflow of sacrificial animals was witnessed during the last three weeks in Dhok Syedan ground as the traders had brought the animals in large number therein.
This illegal animal market was not only causing traffic mess but it had led to create environmental pollution due to waste of the animals.
The anti encroachment staff of cantt board in collaboration with Land Revenue Branch personnel got the ground vacated from the sacrificial animals as the court has imposed ban on setting up illegal animal markets.
However the sale of sacrificial animals is continuing unchecked in various areas of Rawalpindi cantt despite ban orders.
