Summary NHMP foiled robbery attempts in areas of Murree Expresswaym Faisalabad ans Sara-e-Alimgir.
Islamabad (Online): National Highways & Motorway Police has foiled three attempts of dacoities in the areas of Murree Expressway, Faisalabad and Sara-e-Alamgir by prompt action and arrested 03 Dacoits and recovered three pistols of 30 bore.
As per details, on Murree Expressway, Motorway police officers were informed by a citizen namely Javed that his silver colour 2.D Corolla Car No PC-635, Model 2009 was booked by four persons from Rawalpindi for Murree.
When they reached Hakkas, they disembarked the driver and two dacoits tied him with ropes with a tree in jungle and other two dacoits took away his taxi car.
After one hour the two dacoits freed the driver run away and going towards Rawalpindi in FX taxi car bearing registration No.635.
On this information, the Motorway Police got alerted all its patrolling officers. NH&MP officers SPO Haroon Anwar, SPO Raja Abdul Majeed and PO Khalid Anwar observed the said taxi, chased it and they also informed the briefing officers, DSP Israr Ahmed and SPO Iqrar Hussain Shah to stop the said taxi car and then all succeeded to stop it and arrested these two culprits namely Feroz Shah, son of Wilayat Shah resident of Turu, Mardan, and Sajid Ali, resident of Swabi and recovered two pistols of 30 bore from them.
In second incident, Motorway Police was informed by a driver of Corolla Car No. FDA-65 namely Aqeel resident of Faisalabad that on carriageway near Faisalabad some culprits are standing with arms and blocked the road with tree and trying to stop the vehicles to loot them.
On receiving this information the NH&MP officers SPO Abdullah, SPO Zahid Rasheed, PO Shahid Salim and PO Ahsan ul Haq rushed to the scene of incident, when the culprits saw the officers of motorway police, took the advantage of firing and succeeded to escape from the scene.
The NH&MP officer also responded of firing but the dacoits finally succeeded to escape.
In third incident, Motorway police officers SPO Waheed Ullah Khattak and PO Shakir Ali were busy in their routine patrolling duty in the area of Sara-i-Alamgir, on GT road. In the meantime they saw a person hide himself in bushes.
The NH&MP officer took the safety measure and arrested him, namely Ali Raza, son of Muhammad Arshad resident of Gujranwala and recovered a pistol and live rounds. During initial interrogations, he confessed so many dacoities alongwith the intention to sit here for dacoity.
All the dacoits arrested in three incidents & recovered arms and ammunition from their custody were later on handed over to the concerned local police for further investigation.
IG, NH&MP Mr. Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema has appreciated the performance of the officers who took part in these incidents and announced cash rewards and commendation certificates for them.
