Minister IT makes proposals for Cyber Crimes Bill

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Minister of State for Information Technology and Telecommunication Anusha Rehman has said that suggestions of all the ministries should be incorporated in the "Cyber Crimes Bill".

 

She was chairing a meeting to deliberate on the Cyber Crimes Bill and Cyber Space Security. The meeting was attended by the representatives of all stakeholders and law enforcement agencies.

 

Speaking on the occasion‚ Anusha Rehman said the ministry should issue policy directives for the enforcement of type approval of handsets.

 

The minister further directed all concerned that the Federal Board of Revenue as well as the Ministry of Finance must also be taken on board for its enforcement. She also directed the ministry officials concerned to make sure that the Draft Cyber Crimes Law should be provided to those who could not attend the meeting for their feedback.

 

She also directed that Draft Bill should also be placed on the ministry s website for comments. The issue of Securing Cyber Space was also discussed. The minister urged the participants to come up with valuable suggestions within two weeks on Cyber Space Security.

 

Establishment of Telecom Tribunals was also discussed‚ keeping in view the extensive litigation in the industry.
