Summary The SC has ordered police to recover of Idrees Abbasi till the expiry of summer vacation.
ISLAMABAD (Online) - Justice Ejaz Afzal has remarked no crime can be committed without the help of police and if police will, it can do such works which stand next to impossible for others.
He gave these remarks during the course of hearing of missing person Idrees Abbasi case by a two member’s bench of Supreme Court (SC) headed over by Justice Khilji Arif Hussain here Monday.
Justice Ejaz Afzal remarked “ blank reports will serve no purpose. We want missing person whether he is found any where in between the heaven and earth or he is in custody of the intelligence agency. He should be presented in the court. Non recovery of a missing person in the presence of so many solid evidence is a question mark on the proficiency of the police. If some one is obstructing the way, the court be informed about him”.
SP Sadar Wahid Khattak and Arif Abbasi father of missing person appeared in the court. The police also presented a report in the court.
Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan remarked “ you are giving blank report. Where is Idrees Abbasi.
Police told the court that nothing could be found from Hafiz Tahir and Shahid.
Justice Ejaz Afzal remarked “ evidence are not found in retailers shop. They will have to work and then some thing will come into their hands. He has not started his work as police officer so far. He inquired from SP he should tell what action be taken against him.
SP said investigations have been made from several persons.
Justice Ejaz inquired as to who was impeding this work and who was creating difficulties.
SP told he had visited intelligence agency office and he had contacted former SHO Fateh Jang. “Hafiz Tahir and Hafiz Rashid have been included in the investigation but no headway has been made so far.
Justice Ejaz remarked “you have not succeeded in achieving your objective. A lot can be done if you will so. One person is missing and his recovery is one of the duties of SC.
SP said “the word failure is no where written in his dictionary.
Justice Ejaz remarked “he is somewhere in between heaven and earth. Bring him here. Evidence in respect of a person who was picked up by agency and who has gone missing are always available.
Reach out to the person who is behind the offence. There is some cause of any crime. If you ascertain it then the problem can be addressed a lot.
Arif Abbasi said “police had said that Shahid would be released after recovery of Idrees and they had released him after 9 months.
SP said that he had told that he was with them and he was lifted by the agency personnel.
The court allowed time to police for recovery of missing person Idrees Abbasi till the expiry of summer vacation. The hearing of the case would be resumed after summer vacation.
