NEW YORK (AP):- A man has been arrested after authorities say he hacked at his wife with a meat cleaver on a New York City street before firefighters rescued her.
Police say Ming Guang Huang was arrested Monday on attempted murder and other charges. It s not immediately clear whether the 28-year-old has a lawyer.
Firefighters say they saw Huang dragging a screaming woman along Canal Street. Authorities say he pulled out the knife and slashed her as firefighters rushed over and subdued him.
Police haven t released the wife s name. She is hospitalized. An update on her condition isn t immediately available.
