SHEIKUPURA: Police claimed two personnel also were injured in the exchange of gunfire local police said Wednesday.
According to officials, police on Tuesday arrested two miscreants red-handed during a bank robbery on Sargodha Road; however, four of their companions managed to escape.
Later on, on tip off from the arrested criminals, police were on the way to arrest the other miscreants on Wednesday morning, when they were ambushed by the armed men. Meanwhile two dacoits were killed in retaliatory fire by the police.
The killed dacoits are said to hail from Waziristan. According to police sources, two police personnel were injured in the action.
