Fast bowler Wahab Riaz left for London to attend the International Cricket Council’s annual award distribution ceremony.The ICC has short listed Wahab Riaz for the category of the best emerging player award, along with fellow Pakistani, Azhar Ali.Talking to the media at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport, Riaz said that it was an honour for him to get shortlisted for the award.Two Pakistan players – Azhar Ali and Wahab Riaz – could manage to be part of the Emerging Player of the Year category. The other two players in the emerging player category are from the West Indies – Devendra Bishoo and Darren Bravo.Pakistan skipper Misbahul Haq who was nominated in two categories – Test Player of the Year and Cricketer of the Year – could not make it to the short-list.Three other Pakistan players Saeed Ajmal, Adnan Akmal and Mohammad Hafeez, who won nominations for ODI Player of the Year category, also failed to win a place in the short-list.
