Summary Australian fast bowler Brett Lee says that Preity Zinta is one of his closest Indian friends.
When Aussie fast bowler Brett Lee sang Ronan Keating’s When you say nothing at all on Indian national television a few years ago, all young ladies went weak in their knees. And when he teamed up with Asha Bhonsle for a music album, his fan base grew by leaps and bounds.Lee, who has a huge fan following in India both for his cricket (he was a part of IPL) as well as his music, was in Mumbai to launch his first social campaign — Vh1 Spread the Music — coming out of an association of international entertainment channel Vh1 and Lee’s charity foundation, MEWSIC. “Music is an essential part of my life. We being the fortunate ones don’t realise the struggles underprivileged children have to go through. We just want to give them an opportunity to realise their dreams,” said Lee, about the initiative.Lee, who was also giving the tabloids a run for their reports with his blink-and-you-miss link-up with Kings XI Punjab owner Preity Zinta, said India is like “a second home to him”. On being asked who were his closest friends in India, he replied, “I’d gotten to know Preity Zinta very well when I played for Kings XI Punjab, and yes, she’s one of my closest friends in India.”
