Summary England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is upgrading security of Indian team following riots.
A British newspaper reported that the Indian team has been provided with 30 undercover policemen within their hotels, a dozen uniformed officers outside, and two unmarked cars to escort the team bus.The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had asked the ECB for assurances over the safety of its players before the third Test following disturbances in Birmingham.The security of the England team, however, has not been upgraded.Providing the extra security for the remainder of the tour, which includes one T20 match and five one-day internationals, is seen as a means of calming those fears, the daily reported.
