DUBAI (Dunya News) – Peshawar Zalmi have defeated Islamabad United by 34 runs in the third edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) at Dubai International Stadium today (Saturday).

Brilliant start for the young debutant Umaid Asif who took four wickets in the first two overs of his PSL career. He dismissed both openers of United, Chadwick Walton and Luke Ronchi, apart from two middle-order batsmen.

Faheem Ashraf scored 54 from 30 balls in the latter part of the innings. 19-year-old Ibtisam Sheikh took three wickets.

Chris Jordan took the one wicket of Iftikhar Ahmed.

Earlier on Thursday, Multan Sultans inflicted a seven-wicket defeat on defending champions Peshawar Zalmi in the opening match of the tournament. On the other hand, Islamabad United, who had a disappointing campaign in the previous event, will be looking to start on a high.
