(Web Desk) – Former Pakistani pacer Shoaib Akhtar has formally announced to join Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Lahore Qalandars for the third edition of the tournament which will begin in the next year.
He said, “I’m honored and privileged to be a part of this. Extremely excited, thrilled.”
Rawalpindi Express will remain a part of Lahore Qalandars as their mentor. He was alongside the franchise owner Fawad Rana as well as Director Cricket Operations Aaqib Javed in Lahore where the three made the announcement in a press conference.

Meanwhile, Jazz Rising Stars tournament is also in full swing where several talented players have been discovered from various teams of Punjab. Layyah’s victory against Faisalabad earned them a place in the semi-finals against Rawalpindi and the interesting contest has entered in its concluding stage.
Cricket experts including Inzamam-ul-Haq – who is also the chief selector of national team – has praised the tournament outcome. Haris Rauf, who bowls at approx. 93 mph, has also signed a contract with Lahore Qalandars.
