Summary Zalmi and Qalandars are also a part of T20 Global League.
CAPE TOWN (Dunya News) – Pakistan cricketers are ready to rock South Africa’s T20 Global League with their performances as nine of them have been picked up by different franchises.
The selected players include Fakhar Zaman, Wahab Riaz, Imad Wasim, Anwar Ali, Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad Nawaz, Yasir Shah, Junaid Khan and Umar Akmal.
According to Cricket South Africa (CSA), 32 international stars and 96 local players will be in action in the inaugural edition of the league. Every franchise was given the choice to select two icon players, whereas, 116 cricketers became part of drafting that was held in different rounds.
It is worth mentioning here that two franchises of Pakistan Super League (PSL) have also become a part of T20 Global League. Peshawar Zalmi owner Javed Afridi purchased Benoni Zalmi, and Durban Qalandars is owned by Lahore Qalandars Fawad Rana.
Benoni Zalmi have picked up left-arm pacer Wahab Riaz, middle order batsman Umar Akmal and all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz for $115000, $100000 and $35000 respectively.
Durban Qalandars got the services of all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez and left-hand opener Fakhar Zaman for $75000 and $65000 respectively.
All-rounder Imad Wasim was picked up by Stellenbosch Monarchs for $85000, fast bowler Anwar Ali by Nelson Mandela Bay Stars for $100000, and leg-spinner Yasir Shah by Jo’burg Giants for $60000.
Junaid Khan was also selected by Nelson Mandela Bay Stars for $75000 but he will not participate in the tournament owing to his commitment with Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
