KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan skipper across all formats, Sarfraz Ahmed has expressed that it would be a great success for him to continue the mission of former captain Misbah-ul-Haq.
Sarfraz Ahmed said in an interview that he learned a lot by playing under the guidance of Misbah-ul-Haq, and it would be his first priority to continue Misbah’s work. He said the art of controlling different sessions was introduced to him by the former skipper.
Sarfraz wished to follow the footsteps of Misbah and said he would like to take the team forward from where he left. He said he had never thought of becoming the captain of Pakistan team, and leading the team in all formats is just like a dream coming true.
Sarfraz said he would try to give good performance and not disappoint anybody. It is just a start for me as a captain and I am fully aware of the tough challenges waiting ahead for me, he remarked.
Pakistan skipper said that paying tribute to Misbah’s leadership in anyway would be inadequate, as he brought the team back on winning track after taking over the leadership in difficult circumstances in 2010. It was no less than any miracle that Pakistan became number one Test team, said Sarfraz.
