KINGSTON (Dunya News) – Veteran batsman Younis Khan has given the hint to take back his retirement decision and said he may continue to play if Pakistan team need his services, reported Dunya News on Saturday.
According to details, the legendary batsman and Pakistan’s leading run-scorer in Test cricket announced to retire from international cricket two weeks ago, but had also said in his press conference that he may reconsider his decision if Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) asks him to lead the side.
Khan also said that he does not want to leave his cricket on a sad note, he has taken the decision under no pressure and is happy and satisfied over his retirement.
PCB chairman made it quite clear afterwards that the board’s eyes are on future, and Younis Khan will be made no such offer.
After chairman’s announcement, Younis Khan did not demand for the captaincy, but has said that he may continue to play further if team require him.
It is worth mention here that Pakistan Test skipper Misbah-ul-Haq, who will also retire from international cricket after West Indies tour, has expressed his wish to see Younis Khan play further for the national team.
