GALLE (AFP) – Bangladesh were 312 for nine in their first innings at tea on the third day of the first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle on Thursday.

Sri Lankan skipper Rangana Herath bowled his counterpart Mushfiqur Rahim for 85 runs as Bangladesh went into the break still trailing the hosts by 182 runs.

Mushfiqur and Mehedi Hasan put on a 106-run partnership for the seventh wicket to help Bangladesh avoid the follow-on, before Dilruwan Perera took two wickets in two balls to put Sri Lanka back in control.
