WELLINGTON (Dunya News) – South Africa have crushed New Zealand by 159 runs in third one-day international (ODI) at Wellington’s Westpac Stadium on Saturday.
Chasing a target of 272 runs, the Kiwis stumbled at 112 runs in 32.2 overs as seven of their batsmen failed to enter double figures. Colin de Grandhomme remained the top scorer with unbeaten 34 runs. South Africa’s Dwaine Pretorius took three wickets.
Earlier, the Proteas scored 271 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 50 overs after winning the toss and electing to bat first. AB de Villiers was the highest scorer for South Africa with 85 runs, whereas, Quinton de Kock registered 68 runs.
New Zealand’s Colin de Grandhomme had picked up two wickets.
With this victory, South Africa are now leading the five-match series by 2-1. The visitors had won the opening game in Hamilton on Sunday and the hosts had clinched the second match in Christchurch on Wednesday.
