HAMILTON (Dunya News) – New Zealand defeated Australia Sunday by 24 runs in third and final one-day international (ODI) at Hamilton’s Seddon Park and clinched the series by 2-0.
Batting first, the Kiwis scored 281 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 50 overs. Ross Taylor scored a magnificent century (107 off 101) and remained top scorer from New Zealand.
Australia’s Starc and Faulkner shared three wickets each.
Chasing New Zealand’s 281, the Kangaroos struggled from the beginning and lost couple of wickets inside the first ten overs. Aaron Finch and Travis Head then steadied the Aussie innings with a partnership of 75 runs.
Finch scored a half-century before getting out for 56. Australia had a couple of more 50-plus partnerships but none could be converted into a match winning one.
Australia were finally dismissed on 257 runs in 47 overs.
