Standing Captain Mohammad Hafeez and Sharjeel Khan gave an opening partnership of 36 runs to the visitors when Mohammad Hafeez got out on 4.

But Babar Azam kept the innings steady with Sharjeel Khan with a partnership of 49 runs.

Pakistan lost a couple of quick wickets afterwards as Sharjeel Khan got out the moment he completed his quick-fire fifty, leaving Pakistan at 85/2.

Sharjeel made 50 off 47 with a strike rate of 106. His innings consisted of eight fours and one six.

Asad Shafiq then joined Babar Azam in the middle but could not get going and was dismissed on 5, with Pakistan 99/3.

Shoaib Malik came and scored a quick 39 off 41 balls with three fours and one six.

Babar Azam is keeping the score board ticking at the moment and is not out on 66 with cousin Umar Akmal (14) at the crease.

Babar Azam has also equaled the record of fastest to one thousand ODI runs in this match that was previously shared between Sir Vivian Richards, Kevin Pietersen, Jonathan Trott and Quinton de Kock. All of them achieved this feat in 21 innings.

Pakistan are 193/4 in 36 overs.
