KARACHI (Daily Dunya) – Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) have secured the top position in round five of National One-Day Cup for Departments after beating Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) by 37 runs.
SNGPL set the target of 278 runs against KRL who only managed to score 240 runs while chasing.
In another match that was played at National Stadium Karachi, Habib Bank Limited (HBL) thrashed National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) by eight wickets.
NBP team got out on 238 runs in 48.3 overs.
In reply, HBL chased down the total in 44.4 overs led by a wonderful 146 runs opening partnership by Fakhar Zaman (86) and Imam-ul-Haq (74).
United Bank Limited (UBL) trounced Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) by 132 runs in Niaz Stadium Hyderabad.
Batting first, UBL scored 288 runs for the loss of 7 wickets, whereas, PIA got out on 156 runs only in their response.
Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) beaten Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) by 3 wickets in a last-ball thriller. WAPDA chased the total of 208 runs for the loss of seven wickets.
Mansoor Amjad (46), Ayaz Tasawur (43), Kamran Akmal (25) and skipper Salman Butt (24) were the top scorers from WAPDA.
