Summary Ramiz Raja approved of the MCC World Cricket Committee's recommendations, says will improve game
LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja has on Saturday said that sending off players misbehaving on the ground was the right decision. He approved of MCC World Cricket Committee’s recommendations, saying that these steps would improve cricket, reported Dunya News.
Ramiz Raja said that there was no place for misbehaving in Gentlemen’s Game. In an interview, he said that the committee’s decisions were right and positive.
MCC had recommended to International Cricket Council (ICC) that the umpires should have the right to send players off the field in case of misbehaving with the umpire. The suggestion was made after complaints regarding players threatening umpires.
Raja said that such incidents were reported not only on international level but also in leagues and at First Class level. He said that strengthening the umpires was necessary to curb this attitude.
