Summary Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first, captain Azhar Ali, Babar Azam scored centuries
ABU DHABI: (Web Desk, Dunya News) - Pakistan have set 309-run target for West Indies in the third and final One-Day International (ODI) at Abu Dhabi with the help of two centuries scored by Babar Azam and Azhar Ali.
Pakistan were off to a flying start and had already posted 180 runs on the scoreboard for the loss of only one wicket by the end of 30th over. But West Indies did really well to pull things back and were finally able to restrict Pakistan to just 308 runs off the allotted 50 overs while the hosts seemed poised to put a massive total for the already down and out Windies in the final ODI.
Azhar Ali held the anchor for the team, scoring 101 runs off 109 balls along with Babar Azam who batted even better, scoring 117 runs off just 106 balls. However, the batsmen who came in afterwards couldn t carry the momentum. Shoaib Malik lost his wicket after scoring 5 runs off 6 balls while Sarfraz could score only 24 runs off 25 balls though he remained unbeaten. Imad Wasim, Rizwan and Nawaz scored four runs each, however, Nawaz remained unbeaten.
Though the visitors made a great comeback, Pakistan still seems to be favourite after scoring 308 runs and West Indies will be coming out to bat shortly.
West Indian openers got off to a steady start and scored 45 runs in 9 overs but then opener Evin Lewis was bowled by Sohail Khan after scoring 22 runs. Kraigg Brathwaite was second batsman to be dismissed, who scored 32 runs before he got LBW. Shoaib Malik got his wicket.
Wahab Riaz got the third wicket when Darren Bravo was caught behind wicket after adding 17 runs whereas West Indies were in deep trouble when Marlon Samuels got run out after scoring 13.
